Tahiti Papeete

From Bora Bora we moved to Papeete, Tahiti. This is the capital of French Polynesia. We had to spend more than 24 hours in Papeete to join the flights to the next main destination.

We stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel. Here they have a nice lagoon, part of which is cordoned off for a turtle sanctuary where the sick and injured animals are treated and can recuperate before being released back into the wild. They also have very young turtles too. The day was spent around the pool and laggon, in preparation for the next leg of our journey. Before leaving for the airport we saw another beautiful South Pacific sunset.
