Le Touessrok Hotel Mauritius

We have chosen to spend the last days of this holiday on the beach. Swimming, relaxing and reading are the main objectives.

We have been planning this trip for the last 18 months, and Mauritius was chosen. I have wanted to come to this hotel in Mauritius since I was in my twenties (no comments please.... 😜), so a dream comes true.

It's also special for us to follow in Hanna Sofie's footsteps. She was here 7 years ago with her school in Abu Dhabi as part of her Duke of Edinburgh Gold award. She spent 4 days and nights hiking through the jungle, followed by a task to renovate a school, including re-painting of walls etc. She also took the kids to the beach, something they maybe only do once a year. Tomorrow we plan to visit the school and the place she stayed at while working on the school.

It is difficult to digest everything we have experienced on this trip, and life is not exactly the same after Xigera Lodge and all the fantastic animal and bird life. But the next days relaxing on the beach is not a bad way to enjoy life either 😎😎😎

De siste dagene av ferien har vi valgt å tilbringe med strand, bok og bad. Da vi for mer enn 18 måneder siden planla denne ferien ble Mauritius valgt. Al har i 40 år ønsket å dra akkurat hit, så en drøm går i oppfyllelse. Det er også spesielt for oss å "vandre i Hanna Sofie sine fotspor". For eksakt 7 år siden var hun her på øya i 16 dager og gjorde en innsats for den fattige befolkningen. De reparerte en skole, malte og tok de små barna til stranden, noe de kanskje bare opplever 1 gang i året. Vi har med noe skolemateriell vi skal gi til de. Gjengen fra skolen i Abu Dhabi gjorde også en bragd med å gå 4 døgn i jungelen og overnatte i telt. Det lærer man mye av. I morgen skal vi besøke skolen og stedet hun var.

Det er vanskelig å fordøye det vi til nå har opplevet på reisen, og livet blir ikke det samme etter Xigera lodge og alle dyrene.

Nå ser vi frem til avslappende dager, og å ligge rett ut på stranden er heller ikke å forakte.
